Welcome to GCDA
The Greenwich Co-operative Development Agency (GCDA) exists to develop social and
cooperative enterprises.
Our work is focused on the development of and support for democratically managed models of social enterprise
meeting the needs of local communities.
Our aims are to promote, develop and support cooperatives and social enterprises as part of a local sustainable
economic development programme.
GCDA provide support to a broad range of initiatives, our primary areas of expertise
are:
- Collaborating to establish an enterprise that is owned and shared by the communities that work in or benefit
from them
- Assisting in the trading activities; business planning, financial planning, marketing plans, feasibilities
studies and enhancing the supply chain of goods and services within communities. This often provides an
improvement in local services, as well as providing local business opportunities.
- Aiding in the development of a trading arm for voluntary sector organisations
- Long-term development of protected trading organisations This is achieved by establishing legal structures
that encourage democratic ownership benefiting vulnerable or minority groups
- Establishing businesses and organisations enhancing social objectives and programmes.
For over 25 years (Established 1982) we have been involved in providing expert advice, training and resources
for the establishment of social enterprises.
