New Wavelengths Music is a non-profit making social enterprise that teaches Indian music, organises training sessions, workshops, compose new melodies and write new songs.
With funding from the Big Lottery’s Awards for All programme it has just published a 56 page booklet entitled “THE STORY OF THUMRIISM IN BRITAIN: Great Music For The 21st Century”. The author, Amar Chakaravarty has published songs and poems in both the English and Bengali languages. He has long been interested in how music and literature, with deep roots in the Indian sub-continent, can be produced in the English language.
New Wavelengths Music earnestly invites you to be their guest at the concert and book launch on 26th November, 2008. The programme begins at 7pm and will finish by 8:30pm. It promises to be a very enjoyable evening and will focus on the musical heritage of the Indian sub-continent and the launch of the new book.
