Dogon Music Worldwide
Dogon Music Worldwide (DMW) is a multicultural forum, a network of predominantly
African and BAME artists, musicians, performers, "historytellers", visionaries, educators and promoters living
in the United Kingdom and abroad. Established in 2000 Dogon has successfully organised events in the Borough
from a talent show in Woolwich 2002 attracting circa 150 people to an event at the National Maritime Museum
in Greenwich as part of Black History Month, which attracted circa 250 people. Dogon run workshops where
young people learn to play traditional African instruments.

GCDA advised the group on legal structure and company registration and supported
a successful funding application to the Capital Community Fund’s
Local
Network Fund for Children and Young People which supports small voluntary and community groups to improve
outcomes and opportunities for children and young people aged 0-19, and is part of the governments
Every Child Matters initiative.
