New Wavelengths Music
New wavelengths Music brings together visionaries from the challenging arena of contemporary music. British
Indian songwriters and musicians have pooled their expertise to undertake a pioneering work that will create
and market new pieces of what many people will view as ‘world music’ for a mainstream British audience. This
volunteer group has already produced several albums including one recorded entirely in Bengali.
GCDA supported the group with successful fundraising applications to
Fast Forward,
the London ESF Global
Grants Programme which provides grants to small voluntary and community organisations or other non-governmental
organisations, to run projects which will help unemployed people move towards employment, and
Awards for All, a Lottery grants
scheme for local communities in the UK. GCDA also advised on legal structure and company registration.
